Effective September 9, 2026
Last Updated October 1, 2026
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY
These Terms & Conditions of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Dorm Butler website, online booking and account systems, and all services provided by Dorm Butler (“Dorm Butler,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By creating an account, submitting a service request, placing an order, booking a service, purchasing a service, accepting a quote, making a payment, or otherwise accessing or using Dorm Butler’s website or services, you (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms, together with Dorm Butler’s Privacy Policy and any additional service-specific terms, policies, disclosures, or requirements presented to you at the time of booking or service.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not create an account, submit a request, purchase a service, or use the Services.
These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Dorm Butler. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of another person, including a student, you represent and warrant that you have authority to do so and agree that you are responsible for compliance with these Terms to the extent permitted by law.

“Service Request” means an inquiry or request submitted to Dorm Butler that has not yet been accepted or confirmed by Dorm Butler.
“User Content” means information, photographs, messages, instructions, reviews, comments, or other material submitted or provided by a Customer through the website, account, booking system, or other Dorm Butler communication channel.
1.2 ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing the Dorm Butler website or using any Services, you agree to these Terms.
Your acceptance may occur electronically, including by checking an acceptance box, clicking an “Agree,” “Accept,” “Book,” “Purchase,” or similar button, creating an Account, submitting an Order, making a payment, or otherwise proceeding with a Service.
Your electronic acceptance constitutes your agreement to these Terms to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
1.3 AGE AND LEGAL CAPACITY
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
Dorm Butler’s Services are primarily intended for college and university students and the individuals who support or pay for those students.
If a Customer is under the age required to independently enter into a binding contract under applicable law, a parent or legal guardian must accept these Terms and assume responsibility for the Customer’s use of the Services, payment obligations, and compliance with these Terms.
Dorm Butler may require reasonable confirmation of age, identity, authorization, or guardianship when appropriate.
1.4 STUDENT AND RESIDENTIAL ELIGIBILITY
Certain Dorm Butler Services may be limited to students, parents or guardians of students, residents of participating campuses or housing communities, or customers located within a designated Service Area.
You agree to provide accurate information regarding your student status, school, campus, residence, building, room or unit information, and any other information reasonably necessary for Dorm Butler to provide the requested Service.
Dorm Butler may decline a Service Request or discontinue a Service when the Customer or requested location does not meet the applicable eligibility or Service Area requirements.
1.5 PARENT, GUARDIAN, OR THIRD-PARTY PURCHASERS
A parent, guardian, family member, or other third party may purchase Services on behalf of a student.
The person placing the Order represents that they have authorization to provide the information necessary to arrange the Service and, when applicable, to authorize Dorm Butler to communicate with the student or other designated recipient regarding the Order.
The Payor remains responsible for all applicable payment obligations associated with the Order.
1.6 ACCOUNT INFORMATION
When creating an Account or submitting a Service Request, you agree to provide information that is accurate, complete, and current.
This may include your name, telephone number, email address, school or university, campus, residence, building, room or unit information, delivery instructions, emergency or contact information where requested, and payment information.
You are responsible for promptly updating information that changes.
Dorm Butler is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, missed Services, additional charges, or other problems resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading information provided by the Customer.
1.7 ACCOUNT SECURITY
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials and for activity conducted through your Account.
You agree not to share your login credentials in a manner that could compromise your Account or permit unauthorized access.
If you believe that your Account has been accessed or used without authorization, you must notify Dorm Butler as soon as reasonably possible.
Dorm Butler may suspend or restrict an Account when it reasonably believes that the Account has been compromised, misused, used fraudulently, or used in violation of these Terms.
1.8 AUTHORIZED USERS, EMERGENCY CONTACTS, AND INSTRUCTIONS
You may designate an Authorized User to communicate with Dorm Butler or assist with a Service.
Dorm Butler may also permit a Customer to designate an emergency contact, parent, guardian, roommate, family member, or other person for specified purposes.
An emergency contact does not automatically have authority to modify an Order, authorize additional charges, cancel Services, receive property, or make decisions for the Customer unless the Customer has granted that authority.
Dorm Butler may reasonably rely on instructions provided by an Authorized User, or by a person whom the Customer has expressly identified as authorized, unless Dorm Butler has received notice that the authorization has been revoked.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that any Authorized User understands the applicable Service instructions and these Terms.
1.9 ACCURACY OF SERVICE INFORMATION
You are responsible for providing accurate information and instructions necessary for Dorm Butler to perform the requested Service.
This includes, when applicable, accurate pickup and delivery locations, access instructions, item information, event details, errand instructions, deadlines, recipient information, and special instructions.
Dorm Butler may rely on the information supplied by the Customer when determining how and whether a Service can be performed.
1.10 RIGHT TO DECLINE SERVICE
Dorm Butler reserves the right to decline, modify, postpone, suspend, or cancel a Service Request when necessary or appropriate, including when:
• the requested Service falls outside Dorm Butler’s available Services;
• the requested location is outside the applicable Service Area;
• the request presents a safety, legal, operational, or property risk;
• the request conflicts with applicable campus, residence, building, or university rules;
• the Customer has provided materially inaccurate or incomplete information;
• the Customer has failed to satisfy applicable payment requirements;
• the requested Service cannot reasonably be completed under the circumstances; or
• the request involves an item, activity, transaction, or instruction that Dorm Butler does not permit.
Where applicable, Dorm Butler will communicate any cancellation, modification, or other material change to the Customer and will address any resulting refund or credit in accordance with the applicable Service terms and refund policy.
1.11 SERVICE-SPECIFIC TERMS
Different Dorm Butler Services may have additional requirements.
Dorm Butler may publish or provide service-specific terms, booking requirements, package descriptions, cancellation policies, deposits, retainers, fees, instructions, or disclosures for particular services.
If a service-specific term directly addresses an issue that is unique to that service, the service-specific term will apply to that service to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Examples may include:
• laundry services;
• Errand Butler services;
• Birthday Butler services;
• Event Butler services; and
• future Butler services.
Customers will be provided with applicable service-specific requirements before or during booking when reasonably practicable.
2. BOOKING AND MANAGING SERVICES
2.1 SERVICE REQUESTS, ORDERS, AND CONFIRMATIONS
Submitting a Service Request does not necessarily mean that Dorm Butler has accepted or confirmed the request.
A Service Request may be reviewed for availability, location, scheduling, service requirements, pricing, and other applicable conditions before it is accepted.
A Booking or Order becomes confirmed only when Dorm Butler has accepted the request and, where applicable, the required payment, deposit, retainer, or other booking requirement has been successfully completed.
Dorm Butler may contact the Customer for additional information before confirming a Service.
If Dorm Butler cannot fulfill a requested Service, Dorm Butler may decline the request and, where applicable, refund any amount paid for a Service that was not provided, subject to the applicable cancellation and refund terms.
2.2 SCHEDULING
Services must be scheduled through an approved Dorm Butler booking method, which may include the Dorm Butler website, customer portal, booking platform, or another method expressly authorized by Dorm Butler.
Dorm Butler may decline, modify, reschedule, or reroute a Booking when reasonably necessary because of scheduling limitations, service capacity, safety concerns, weather, campus restrictions, building access, operational conditions, or circumstances outside Dorm Butler's reasonable control.
2.3 SERVICE WINDOWS
Unless Dorm Butler expressly provides a guaranteed service time in writing, all pickup, delivery, errand, event, appointment, and completion times are estimated service windows unless Dorm Butler expressly identifies a specific time as guaranteed.
Service timing may be affected by:
• traffic;
• parking;
• weather;
• campus activity;
• sporting events;
• move-in or move-out periods;
• residence hall access;
• elevators;
• security procedures;
• university or property restrictions;
• customer delays;
• vendor delays;
• staffing;
• high service volume;
• mechanical problems;
• government directives;
• emergencies; and
• other circumstances outside Dorm Butler's reasonable control.
Dorm Butler will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant delays when practicable.
Dorm Butler will use reasonable efforts to complete Services within the applicable service window but does not guarantee a particular arrival time unless expressly stated otherwise.
2.4 DESIGNATED LOCATIONS
Customers are responsible for providing a Designated Location that is accurate, reasonably accessible, safe, and permitted for the applicable Service.
Depending on the Service and location, a Designated Location may include a residence hall entrance, front desk, lobby, mailroom, designated pickup area, apartment entrance, campus location, event location, or another location approved by Dorm Butler.
Customers are responsible for following all applicable residence-hall, apartment, university, campus, and building procedures concerning pickup, delivery, visitor access, and third-party service providers.
2.5 ACCESS REQUIREMENTS
The Customer is responsible for providing Dorm Butler with any access information reasonably necessary to complete the Service.
This may include building instructions, entry procedures, access codes, parking instructions, authorized pickup locations, or instructions regarding residence-hall personnel.
Customers represent that they have the authority to provide any access information they provide to Dorm Butler.
Dorm Butler will not circumvent security procedures, restricted-access systems, residence-hall policies, or other access requirements.
2.6 FAILED PICKUP OR DELIVERY
A pickup or delivery may be considered unsuccessful when Dorm Butler is unable to complete the Service because:
• the Customer is not available when personal handoff is required;
• Customer Items are not placed at the agreed location;
• the Customer provides an incorrect or incomplete address;
• required building or campus access is unavailable;
• access instructions are inaccurate or incomplete;
• the Designated Location is unsafe or inaccessible;
• the Customer fails to follow applicable pickup instructions; or
• another circumstance attributable to the Customer prevents reasonable completion of the Service.
Any applicable missed-service, redelivery, rescheduling, or other fee will be disclosed through the applicable booking or service terms before being charged whenever reasonably practicable.
Dorm Butler will not charge a Customer for a failed pickup or delivery caused solely by Dorm Butler.
2.7 DELIVERY COMPLETION
Depending on the Service, delivery may be considered completed when the applicable items are:
• handed directly to the Customer;
• handed to an Authorized User;
• delivered to an authorized building representative;
• placed in an approved Designated Location;
• placed in an approved locker or designated pickup location; or
• otherwise delivered according to the instructions confirmed for the Booking.
Once delivery has been completed in accordance with the agreed delivery instructions, Dorm Butler is not responsible for loss, theft, damage, weather exposure, or unauthorized access occurring afterward, except to the extent caused by Dorm Butler's own negligence or as otherwise required by Applicable Law.
Where reasonably feasible, Dorm Butler may maintain delivery records, photographs, timestamps, electronic confirmations, signatures, or other records showing completion of delivery.
2.8 CAMPUS, RESIDENCE, AND PROPERTY RULES
Dorm Butler services are subject to the rules, policies, security procedures, access requirements, operating hours, and restrictions of the applicable university, college, residence hall, apartment community, dormitory, event venue, office, business, or other property.
Dorm Butler may modify or suspend a Service when required to comply with those rules.
The Customer is responsible for providing accurate access information and complying with applicable property rules.
Payment for a Dorm Butler service does not create or guarantee a right for Dorm Butler or its personnel to enter a residence hall, dormitory, campus building, apartment, gated property, restricted area, event venue, or other location.
Dorm Butler will not intentionally bypass security procedures, restricted-access systems, locked areas, residence-hall policies, or other access controls.
If required access is unavailable, Dorm Butler may delay, reschedule, modify, or cancel the Service.
2.9 WEATHER, EMERGENCIES, AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Dorm Butler may delay, reschedule, suspend, or cancel Services because of severe weather, flooding, storms, emergency conditions, road closures, campus closures, evacuation orders, public safety concerns, natural disasters, government directives, university directives, or other circumstances that make providing the Service unsafe or impractical.
Dorm Butler will use reasonable efforts to communicate material service interruptions and reschedule affected Services when reasonably practicable.
2.10 CUSTOMER-CAUSED FAILED SERVICE
In addition to the failed pickup and delivery provisions in Section 2.6, a Service may be considered a customer-caused failed service when Dorm Butler is unable to reasonably complete a scheduled service because of circumstances attributable to the Customer, including, without limitation:
• the Customer is unavailable when their presence or cooperation is required;
• items are not available at the agreed pickup location;
• the Customer provides an incorrect, incomplete, or inaccessible address or location;
• required building, residence hall, campus, venue, or property access is unavailable;
• required access instructions, entry codes, permissions, or other information are missing or inaccurate;
• the Customer changes the location after the Butler is already traveling to the original location;
• the Customer fails to follow reasonable service instructions; or
• the Customer requests a service that cannot reasonably be completed because of information or circumstances within the Customer's control.
Dorm Butler may charge a $25 customer-caused missed-service fee when a scheduled service cannot be completed for one of these reasons.
The $25 fee does not apply when the failure is caused by Dorm Butler, an employee or contractor acting on behalf of Dorm Butler, or circumstances for which the Customer is not reasonably responsible.
Repeated customer-caused failed services may result in additional service restrictions, suspension, or termination of the Customer's account.
2.11 CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING
Customers may cancel or request to reschedule services through the approved Dorm Butler communication or booking method.
Cancellation and rescheduling requirements may differ depending on the type of service because laundry, errand, event, birthday, and other Butler services may require different preparation, scheduling, purchasing, travel, staffing, or third-party commitments.
Dorm Butler may establish service-specific cancellation deadlines, deposits, retainers, minimum charges, or other cancellation requirements and will disclose applicable requirements before or at the time of booking when reasonably practicable.
If a Customer cancels after Dorm Butler has incurred nonrefundable, customized, third-party, travel, purchasing, staffing, preparation, or other costs specifically for the Customer's service, the Customer may remain responsible for those costs to the extent disclosed and permitted by applicable law.
Amounts expressly identified as nonrefundable are not refundable except where required by applicable law.
Rescheduling is subject to availability and is not guaranteed.
Dorm Butler may decline a requested rescheduling if the requested date, time, location, staffing, or service capacity is unavailable.
3. MONEY, PAYMENTS, FEES, AND REFUNDS
3.1 SERVICE PRICING
Prices for Dorm Butler Services are the prices displayed or otherwise communicated by Dorm Butler at the time the Service is purchased or booked, unless a different written price has been expressly agreed upon.
Prices may vary by Service, service area, campus, distance, timing, service level, quantity, event requirements, laundry volume, special handling, or other applicable factors.
Unless otherwise stated, the Customer is responsible for applicable taxes, governmental charges, or other mandatory fees associated with the purchase.
3.2 PAYMENT AUTHORIZATION
By purchasing or booking a Service, you authorize Dorm Butler and its authorized third-party payment processors to charge the payment method provided for:
• the applicable Service price;
• approved additional Services or charges;
• applicable deposits or retainers;
• applicable taxes;
• approved special-handling charges;
• applicable cancellation or missed-service charges disclosed under the applicable Service terms; and
• other amounts expressly authorized under these Terms or at the time of purchase.
You represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.
3.3 PAYMENT INFORMATION
Customers are responsible for maintaining accurate and current payment information.
Dorm Butler is not responsible for delays, cancellations, account restrictions, or interrupted Services resulting from expired, declined, invalid, or otherwise unavailable payment methods.
3.4 FAILED PAYMENTS
If a payment is declined or otherwise fails, Dorm Butler may attempt to process the payment again, request another payment method, suspend Services until the balance is resolved, or take other lawful steps to collect an outstanding balance.
Dorm Butler may restrict future bookings when an account has an unpaid balance.
Any late, returned-payment, collection, or other fee will be charged only where disclosed and permitted by Applicable Law.
3.5 REFUNDS
Refund eligibility depends on the applicable Service, Booking, cancellation terms, and circumstances involved.
Unless a Service-specific policy, these Terms, or Applicable Law provides otherwise, payment for a completed Service is not refundable solely because a Customer later decides that the Service was no longer desired.
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or cancellation right that cannot lawfully be waived.
3.6 ADDITIONAL CHARGES
Certain Services may involve additional charges based on circumstances that cannot reasonably be determined until the Service is reviewed or performed.
Where an additional charge is reasonably anticipated, Dorm Butler will disclose the applicable charge or pricing method before performing the additional work whenever reasonably practicable.
A Customer may be responsible for additional charges associated with requested upgrades, additional items, special handling, additional time, additional distance, unusual service requirements, or other customer-requested changes.
3.7 PRICE CHANGES
Dorm Butler may change its prices, packages, service fees, or pricing structure from time to time.
A price change will not retroactively change the price of a Service that has already been purchased and confirmed unless otherwise permitted by the applicable Booking terms.
Where a recurring service or subscription is offered, any required advance notice concerning a future price change will be provided in accordance with the applicable agreement and Applicable Law.
3.8 BILLING QUESTIONS
If a Customer believes a charge is incorrect, unauthorized, duplicated, or otherwise disputed, the Customer should contact Dorm Butler at hello@yourdormbutler.com before initiating a payment dispute with a card issuer, bank, payment provider, or other financial institution whenever reasonably practicable.
Dorm Butler will make reasonable efforts to investigate legitimate billing concerns and correct confirmed errors.
3.9 VALID PAYMENT OBLIGATIONS
A payment dispute or chargeback does not automatically eliminate the Customer's obligation to pay amounts that are validly owed for services, purchases, fees, deposits, retainers, or other charges authorized under these Terms or an applicable booking.
3.10 PAYMENT DISPUTES AND CHARGEBACKS
Dorm Butler may suspend or restrict an Account or future services when a Customer initiates a fraudulent, intentionally misleading, or otherwise improper chargeback or payment dispute.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Dorm Butler may pursue recovery of legitimately owed amounts and reasonable costs directly resulting from an improper or fraudulent chargeback.
Nothing in this section prevents a Customer from exercising a lawful right to dispute an unauthorized or erroneous transaction.
4. LAUNDRY SERVICES
4.1 LAUNDRY RESPONSIBILITIES
When using Dorm Butler laundry Services, the Customer represents and agrees that:
• the Customer has the right to submit the laundry or other items for service;
• the Customer has reviewed applicable care labels and understands that ordinary laundering may affect certain fabrics, colors, finishes, embellishments, or materials;
• pockets have been emptied before items are submitted;
• prohibited, hazardous, contaminated, or otherwise restricted items have not been included;
• the Customer has disclosed any material information reasonably necessary to safely process the items;
• items requiring specialty cleaning have not been submitted unless Dorm Butler has expressly agreed to provide that specialty service; and
• the Customer understands that Dorm Butler does not guarantee complete stain removal.
4.2 LAUNDRY HANDLING AND STANDARD OF CARE
Dorm Butler will use reasonable care in handling Customer Items while those items are in Dorm Butler's custody and control.
Laundry Services are subject to the ordinary risks associated with laundering, drying, folding, transporting, and handling textile goods.
Dorm Butler does not guarantee that every item will emerge from the laundering process in exactly the same condition in which it was received.
Dorm Butler does not guarantee the complete removal of stains, odors, discoloration, set-in stains, dye transfer, marks, or other preexisting conditions.
Laundry results may be affected by:
• age of the garment;
• fabric composition;
• prior washing;
• prior treatment;
• manufacturer instructions;
• stain age;
• stain type;
• dye quality;
• construction;
• existing wear;
• previous damage; and
• improper care before Dorm Butler receives the item.
Following a garment's care instructions does not guarantee that the garment will remain unchanged during laundering.
Ordinary effects may include, depending on the item and its condition, shrinkage, fading, color transfer, pilling, loss of elasticity, changes in texture, or other effects associated with laundering.
Dorm Butler is not responsible for ordinary laundering effects that are reasonably associated with the care of the item, including reasonable fading, shrinkage, pilling, changes in texture, elasticity changes, color variation, or other effects that are not caused by Dorm Butler's unreasonable conduct.
Dorm Butler is not responsible for damage caused by manufacturer defects, prior wear, improper care instructions, pre-existing damage, improper labeling, or conditions that existed before Dorm Butler received the item.
5. BUTLER SERVICES
5.1 EVENT AND BIRTHDAY BUTLER SERVICES
Event and Birthday Butler services may involve planning assistance, purchasing, setup, delivery, decorating, coordination, errands, guest-related assistance, gift handling, or other services specifically agreed upon with the Customer.
The exact scope of an event or birthday service will depend on the applicable booking, package, quote, service description, or written confirmation.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate event details, including when applicable:
• the date;
• start and end time;
• venue;
• address;
• access information;
• number of guests;
• special instructions;
• theme or design requirements;
• vendor information;
• delivery instructions;
• approved spending limits; and
• required permissions.
Dorm Butler is not responsible for delays, cancellations, defects, shortages, or failures caused by third-party vendors, venues, delivery providers, guests, weather, campus restrictions, building restrictions, or circumstances outside Dorm Butler's reasonable control.
Customized, personalized, perishable, nonreturnable, or otherwise specially purchased items may not be refundable after purchase.
If Dorm Butler has already purchased supplies, decorations, gifts, food, merchandise, or other items specifically for an event or birthday service, the Customer may remain responsible for those costs even if the event is subsequently cancelled or changed, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Event and Birthday Butler services may require a deposit, retainer, advance payment, or other booking payment. Any applicable payment requirement will be disclosed at booking.
5.2 ERRAND BUTLER PURCHASES AND REIMBURSEMENTS
When Dorm Butler is asked to purchase, retrieve, pick up, deliver, or otherwise obtain goods or services for a Customer, the Customer is responsible for the actual cost of approved purchases in addition to any Dorm Butler service, errand, travel, or other applicable fees.
Depending on the request, Dorm Butler may require advance payment, a spending authorization, a payment method, or a deposit before beginning the errand.
The Customer is responsible for providing accurate instructions, reasonable spending limits, preferred brands or products when applicable, and any necessary information concerning substitutions.
If a requested item is unavailable, Dorm Butler may contact the Customer for instructions. If the Customer cannot be reached within a reasonable period, Dorm Butler may use reasonable judgment concerning whether to proceed, substitute, delay, or cancel the request.
Dorm Butler does not guarantee that a particular product, brand, size, color, flavor, location, vendor, or other requested item will be available.
Additional charges may apply for disclosed travel, parking, admission, waiting time, rush requests, delivery charges, third-party fees, or other expenses associated with an errand.
Dorm Butler may require reimbursement for approved purchases before or after completion of the errand, depending on the service arrangement.
5.3 THIRD-PARTY PURCHASES AND VENDOR RESPONSIBILITY
Dorm Butler may, at a Customer's request, purchase, coordinate, retrieve, arrange, or deliver goods or services provided by third parties.
Third parties may include, without limitation:
• restaurants;
• bakeries;
• florists;
• retailers;
• gift shops;
• event vendors;
• delivery companies;
• entertainment providers;
• transportation providers; and
• other merchants or service providers.
Dorm Butler is not the manufacturer, seller, provider, or guarantor of third-party goods or services unless expressly stated otherwise.
Dorm Butler is not responsible for a third party's product quality, availability, preparation, substitution, delay, cancellation, pricing, defect, failure to perform, incorrect order, or other act or omission.
Dorm Butler may reasonably assist the Customer in communicating with the third party when appropriate, but such assistance does not make Dorm Butler responsible for the third party's obligations.
The Customer remains responsible for the cost of third-party goods or services that the Customer authorized Dorm Butler to purchase or arrange.
6. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES AND CUSTOMER PROPERTY
6.1 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information, following applicable Service instructions, complying with these Terms, and cooperating reasonably with Dorm Butler personnel.
Customers agree to provide information and instructions that are reasonably necessary to safely and properly perform the requested Service.
6.2 SHARED LIVING ENVIRONMENTS
Customers acknowledge that many Dorm Butler customers live in shared residence halls, dormitories, apartments, suites, or other shared environments.
Customers are responsible for identifying and separating their own property before pickup.
Dorm Butler is not responsible for property that is removed, accessed, exchanged, misplaced, or taken by roommates, suitemates, family members, guests, residence-hall personnel, or other third parties before pickup or after delivery.
6.3 CUSTOMER INSTRUCTIONS
Customers are responsible for providing clear and accurate instructions.
Dorm Butler may rely on instructions provided through the applicable booking system or by an authorized Customer or Authorized User.
If instructions are unclear, contradictory, incomplete, unsafe, or impossible to follow, Dorm Butler may contact the Customer for clarification or determine that the requested Service cannot reasonably be completed.
6.4 CUSTOMER PROPERTY
The Customer represents and warrants that the Customer owns, possesses, or has lawful authority to provide any property, clothing, package, gift, item, document, or other property to Dorm Butler or to request that Dorm Butler purchase, transport, retrieve, store, deliver, or otherwise handle it.
Customers may not use Dorm Butler to possess, transport, deliver, retrieve, or handle stolen property, illegally obtained property, property subject to a legal hold, property that the Customer is not authorized to transfer, or property whose possession or transportation would violate applicable law.
Dorm Butler may refuse to handle property when it reasonably believes the property presents a legal, safety, security, operational, or liability concern.
6.5 UNCLAIMED PROPERTY IN DORM BUTLER’S POSSESSION
This section applies to Customer property that Dorm Butler temporarily possesses in connection with laundry, errands, deliveries, events, or other services.
6.6 CIRCUMSTANCES RESULTING IN UNCLAIMED PROPERTY
Property may become unclaimed when Dorm Butler cannot complete a return or delivery because of an incorrect address, unavailable Customer, unavailable recipient, inaccessible location, closed Account, lack of response, refusal to accept delivery, failure to retrieve property, or another circumstance attributable to the Customer.
6.7 CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY FOR UNCLAIMED PROPERTY
Customers are responsible for maintaining accurate contact information and responding to reasonable communications regarding property that cannot be returned or delivered.
6.8 STORAGE OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY
Dorm Butler may establish reasonable procedures for temporarily storing unclaimed property.
Any applicable storage charge will be disclosed when reasonably practicable before being assessed.
Dorm Butler is not required to provide indefinite storage.
6.9 NOTICE AND DISPOSITION OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY
Dorm Butler may make reasonable attempts to contact the Customer before disposing of or otherwise handling property that remains unclaimed.
Property that legally qualifies for abandonment may be handled, donated, sold, returned, transferred, or otherwise disposed of in accordance with applicable law.
If applicable law permits a sale of abandoned property, Dorm Butler may apply legally permissible proceeds toward unpaid charges and reasonable costs associated with storage, handling, sale, or disposition.
Any remaining proceeds will be handled as required by applicable law.
7. PROHIBITED AND RESTRICTED ITEMS
7.1 GENERAL PROHIBITION
Customers must not submit, request, transport, or provide to Dorm Butler any item or material that is illegal, hazardous, unsafe, contaminated, or reasonably likely to cause injury, property damage, equipment damage, or an unsafe working condition.
7.2 LAUNDRY PROHIBITED ITEMS
Unless Dorm Butler expressly agrees in writing to provide a particular specialty service, Customers should not submit items requiring:
• dry cleaning;
• specialty cleaning;
• professional leather or suede care;
• fur care;
• delicate restoration;
• alterations or repairs;
• specialized equipment not provided by Dorm Butler; or
• handling outside the ordinary scope of the applicable laundry Service.
Customers should also avoid submitting highly valuable, irreplaceable, sentimental, antique, heirloom, or one-of-a-kind items unless Dorm Butler has expressly accepted the item and the applicable service terms address such property.
7.3 HAZARDOUS AND UNSAFE MATERIALS
Prohibited materials may include, without limitation:
• weapons or ammunition;
• explosives;
• flammable materials;
• hazardous chemicals;
• toxic substances;
• illegal drugs or controlled substances not lawfully possessed;
• biohazardous materials;
• items contaminated with bodily fluids;
• materials containing hazardous biological contamination;
• sharp objects that may injure personnel;
• leaking substances;
• batteries or other materials that create a material fire or safety risk; and
• any item that Dorm Butler reasonably determines presents an unsafe handling condition.
Dorm Butler may refuse to accept or process any item that presents a safety concern.
7.4 VALUABLES AND PERSONAL ITEMS
Customers should not place cash, jewelry, watches, identification documents, passports, credit or debit cards, keys, electronics, headphones, wireless earbuds, medications, vape devices, or other valuables inside laundry bags or other property submitted for Service.
Customers are responsible for removing personal belongings from pockets and containers before submitting items.
Dorm Butler is not responsible for personal property left inside a Customer Item except to the extent otherwise required by Applicable Law.
More generally, Customers should not provide Dorm Butler with cash, jewelry, watches, passports, government identification, financial cards, prescription medication, highly valuable electronics, irreplaceable documents, weapons, or other highly sensitive or high-value property unless Dorm Butler has expressly agreed in writing to handle the item.
Examples include:
• cash;
• jewelry;
• watches;
• passports;
• government identification;
• credit or debit cards;
• banking materials;
• prescription medication;
• keys;
• high-value electronics;
• irreplaceable documents;
• collectibles;
• heirlooms; and
• one-of-a-kind property.
Dorm Butler may refuse or return such items.
Nothing in this provision limits any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
7.5 REFUSAL OR SPECIAL HANDLING
Dorm Butler may refuse to accept, return without processing, isolate, or otherwise appropriately handle an item that it reasonably believes violates these Terms or presents a safety, legal, contamination, or operational concern.
Where permitted by law and reasonably necessary, Dorm Butler may charge an applicable special-handling or other disclosed fee.
8. SERVICE CLAIMS, LOSS, DAMAGE, AND QUALITY CONCERNS
8.1 LOSS OR DAMAGE CLAIMS
If a Customer believes that an item has been lost or damaged while in Dorm Butler's custody, the Customer must notify Dorm Butler through the designated customer-support or claims process as soon as reasonably practicable after discovering the issue.
A claim may require:
• the Customer's name;
• the Booking or Order information associated with the item;
• a description of the item;
• a description of the alleged damage or loss;
• photographs of the item or damage when available;
• proof of purchase or ownership when reasonably available;
• the approximate age of the item;
• replacement value information; and
• any other information reasonably requested by Dorm Butler to investigate the claim.
Dorm Butler may request that a damaged item be made available for inspection.
8.2 INVESTIGATION OF CLAIMS
Dorm Butler may review Booking records, pickup and delivery records, photographs, customer communications, item identification information, processing records, and other reasonably available information when investigating a claim.
Customers agree to cooperate reasonably with the investigation.
Claims may be denied when the Customer cannot provide sufficient information to reasonably establish that the loss or damage occurred while the item was in Dorm Butler's custody, when the item was prohibited, or when another exclusion under these Terms applies.
8.3 FAIR MARKET VALUE
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, where Dorm Butler determines that it is responsible for an eligible lost or damaged item, any compensation will be based on reasonable evidence of the item's value, taking into account the item's age, condition, depreciation, wear, and reasonable replacement value at the time of the loss or damage rather than automatically reimbursing the original purchase price.
Fair market value may consider the original purchase price, age, condition, ordinary depreciation, and reasonable replacement cost.
Sentimental, emotional, custom, irreplaceable, or other non-economic value is not included in fair market value.
8.4 COMPENSATION LIMITS
Any limits on compensation for lost or damaged Customer Items will be stated in the applicable Dorm Butler Service terms, Booking terms, or other applicable disclosure presented to the Customer.
If Dorm Butler establishes a specific protection or compensation program for a particular Service, the terms of that program will govern eligible claims under that Service.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit liability where such limitation is prohibited by Applicable Law.
8.5 EXCLUSIONS
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dorm Butler is not responsible for:
• normal wear and tear;
• pre-existing damage;
• manufacturer defects;
• damage resulting from improper care instructions or improper prior care;

• conditions outside Dorm Butler's reasonable control; or
• sentimental or non-economic value.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
8.6 CUSTOMER'S DUTY TO MITIGATE
Customers agree to take reasonable steps to reduce or prevent additional loss or damage after becoming aware of a problem.
For example, a Customer should not continue using an item that has been materially damaged if continued use could reasonably worsen the condition.
Dorm Butler may consider a Customer's failure to reasonably mitigate additional damage when evaluating a claim, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
8.7 SERVICE QUALITY CONCERNS
Service quality concerns that do not involve the loss of or physical damage to Customer Items should be reported to Dorm Butler as soon as reasonably practicable.
Examples may include:
• incomplete folding;
• residual stains;
• odor concerns;
• an incomplete Service;
• a missed service component; or
• another material issue concerning the quality of a completed Service.
Dorm Butler may, depending on the circumstances, offer a reasonable remedy such as re-performing the affected Service, correcting the issue, providing a service credit, or issuing an appropriate refund.
The remedy offered will depend on the nature and severity of the issue and does not create a guarantee of a particular remedy in every situation.
Claims involving actual loss of or physical damage to Customer Items are governed by the applicable loss, damage, and claims provisions of these Terms and any applicable Service-specific protection terms.

11.4 CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTENT
Customers represent that they have the necessary rights and authority to submit Customer Content and that the content does not knowingly violate another person's rights or applicable law.
